At the same time, the corporation called the issue of import substitution in the production of gas turbine units for Russian frigates of project 22350 by the engine-building company UEC-Saturn completely resolved"
ST. PETERSBURG, June 8. /TASS/. The process of modernization of the Russian Navy ships is hindered by the problems of import substitution of the electronic component base. This was announced by the General Director of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) Alexey Rakhmanov in an interview with TASS on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
"There are still questions about the electronic component base," Rakhmanov said, answering a question about the relevance of the problem of import substitution for the modernization of ships.
At the same time, he called the issue of import substitution in the production of gas turbine units for Russian frigates of project 22350 by the engine-building company UEC-Saturn completely resolved.
"We are now engaged in the creation of our competence centers on our own basis, but with the involvement of rental partners. Not everything is going smoothly. It takes a lot of effort. From this point of view, I believe that it is more correct to prepare well, then report on the achievement, than to run ahead and make people laugh, " Rakhmanov said.
Previously, gas turbine engines for Russian Navy ships were purchased in Ukraine, where they were produced at the Nikolaev enterprise "Zorya-Mashproekt". However, in 2014, Kiev completely severed military-technical cooperation with Moscow, which led to problems with the completion of work on the project 22350 frigates under construction. Rybinsk enterprise "UEC-Saturn" has created a line of engines for ships instead of Ukrainian power plants. The UEC-Saturn gas turbine engines were installed on the Project 22350 Admiral Golovko frigate, which is being completed.
