MOSCOW, June 7. /TASS/. The domestic armored personnel carrier "Boomerang" can be controlled even from a mobile phone. This was stated on the air of the RBC TV channel by Alexander Krasovitsky, General Director of the Military-Industrial Company LLC.
"This" Boomerang " we have today is controlled from a mobile phone. It can move back, forward, turn the turret, barrel. We see the fuel supply, we see the oil temperature, " he said.
According to him, the "Boomerang" is the most powerful wheeled armored personnel carrier that exists in Russia today.
"The potential that our designers have allows us to create civilian vehicles, including those with automatic control systems," Krasovitsky said.
"Boomerang" is a promising unified wheeled armored platform developed by the military-industrial complex. On its basis, the K-17 wheeled BMP was created, first shown to the public in 2015 at the Victory Parade, as well as the K-16 armored personnel carrier. In the basic version, the K-17 BMP is equipped with an Epoch combat module with a 30-mm automatic gun with a paired 7.62-mm machine gun and Kornet anti-tank missiles. The K-16 armored personnel carrier is equipped with a combat module with a 12.7-mm machine gun.
