The crew of the diesel-electric submarine "Magadan" of project 636.3 (code "Varshavyanka") provides the final stage of mooring tests of the DAPL, in which the delivery team of the "Admiralty Shipyards" participates.
After that, the submarine will go on sea trials, which will last approximately until the Day of the Navy (July 25), according to Mil.Press Flot with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
The military department clarified that during the previous tests, specialists from factory divisions and contractors checked most of the submarine's navigation system, communications complex, general ship systems, sonar complex, control systems, and torpedo-missile weapons systems.
"Magadan" is the third submarine of the project 636.3 in a series of six units ordered by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation for the Pacific Fleet (previously, the Black Sea Fleet received a similar series). It was laid down on November 1, 2019-simultaneously with the fourth submarine, which received the name "Ufa".
"Magadan" was launched on March 26 this year. Mooring trials began in April. The transfer of the submarine to the Russian Navy is expected in the fall of 2021.
Project 636.3 DPLS were developed in the Central Design Bureau "Rubin" for the fight against submarines and surface ships of the enemy, as well as for the defense of naval bases, sea and coastal communications.
The Varshavyanka is 73 meters long, 10 meters wide, and has a displacement of 3,950 tons. The working depth of the dive is 240 meters, the maximum depth is 300 meters. The speed of the underwater course is 20 knots, the range of navigation is 7,500 miles, and the autonomy is 45 days. Crew – 52 people. The submarines are armed with six 533 mm torpedo tubes, mines and Kalibr missile attack systems.
