Saint-Petersburg. June 4. INTERFAX-Serial deliveries of new-generation S-500 Prometheus air defense systems and Zircon hypersonic missiles will soon begin, Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov told Interfax.
"The President said that the state tests (S-500 - IF) are being completed. This suggests that we are already on the threshold of serial deliveries, " Borisov said on the sidelines of the SPIEF on Friday.

The S-500 Prometheus is being developed by Almaz-Antey Concern of East Kazakhstan Region as a new generation of anti-aircraft missile systems, which is supposed to apply the principle of separate solutions to the tasks of destroying ballistic and aerodynamic targets. According to the military, the S-500 will become the basis of a unified national air and missile defense system (air defense-ABM). In addition, it will be able to destroy satellites and hypersonic weapons of all modifications in near space.
The hypersonic sea missile "Zircon" was developed in the Reutov "NPO Mashinostroeniya" (part of the corporation "Tactical Missile Armament", KTRV). It is intended for arming the Yasen-M and Husky multi-purpose nuclear submarines, as well as surface ships.
