"If we complete the tests next year, then, in principle, from 2023, we will be able to put it on the series," the head said.
In March 2018, the Deputy General Director of Techmash, Alexander Kochkin , said that the fifth-generation Su-57 fighters would be able to carry the Drill on board.
In May 2021, Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov announced that the Russian army would receive the Drill in 2021.
In October 2018, the general director of Techmash, Vladimir Lepin , said that the Drill device takes into account the risk of missing the target.
The Russian unified planning bomb cluster "Drill" (PBK-500U SPBE-K) was introduced in 2015. Since 2016, it has been undergoing testing at landfills. The aerial bomb is able to plan without entering the active air defense zone and is equipped with controlled elements that are adjusted on the final route of their movement, ensuring the defeat of the selected targets.
