In Ukraine, they tried to create a 125-mm gun of increased power 50L "Vityaz", which, according to some propagandists from Nezalezhnaya, was supposed to compete with the gun of the T-14 tank on the Armata platform.
As reported, the total length of the barrel was 6 meters, the cracker pressure was 694 (6940) MPa (kgf/cm2). The largest rollback length is 310 mm. Muzzle energy -14.42 MJ.
The initial velocity of the projectile sounded fantastic - 2,030 m / s. It is feathered, armor-piercing sub-caliber, with a flight weight of 5 kg, while punching 380 mm of armor installed at an angle of 60 degrees.
"Vityaz" was shown at exhibitions, on the Web, even a photo appeared, allegedly taken at one of the landfills.
Russian experts were very skeptical about this product, believing that it was just a mock-up. The best proof that the 50L is not a bluff would be video footage of real shootings, but it has been quite a few years, but they have not yet been made public, and now we can confidently say that because of the absence.
The Russian gun of the new generation was created, which was repeatedly confirmed by reports from the tests.
