MOSCOW, June 1-RIA Novosti. More than 500 units of military equipment have been transferred to the Space and Air Defense forces over the past five years, the head of the military department, Sergei Shoigu, said on a conference call at the Russian Defense Ministry on Tuesday.
"Over the past five years, the Space and Air Defense forces have received 536 units of weapons and equipment," the Minister said.
According to Shoigu, in January-February, an assessment of the logistics system of the Russian Space Forces and the air defense-missile defense forces was carried out.
"Their logistics were evaluated in January-February during a comprehensive audit, which was conducted in the Aerospace Forces for the first time since their creation in 2015. 40% of military formations have been checked, " the army general said.
According to him, special attention was paid during the inspection to the conditions of service and life of the VKS servicemen and their families. The test showed that " the current MTO system allows the Aerospace Forces to solve the tasks facing them."
The head of the military department added that the space forces and the air defense-missile defense forces annually maintain and repair more than 3.5 thousand units of weapons, military and special equipment.
He added that the above-mentioned troops have built more than 200 objects of social and material and technical purposes, the personnel are fully provided with uniforms, food and household items.
