The naval strike group of the Northern Fleet went on a training exercise in the Barents Sea. It consists of the heavy nuclear-powered missile cruiser "Peter the Great" and the missile cruiser "Marshal Ustinov".
According to the press service of the Northern Fleet, the exit of the missile cruisers was provided by two ship-based minesweeping groups. The crews of these minesweepers will also work out actions to search for mines while escorting surface ships and submarines in the Barents Sea. To do this, they will use sonar stations to search for anchor and bottom mines, various types of trawls.
As for the cruisers " Peter the Great "and" Marshal Ustinov", they will test their weapons at sea and perform joint maneuvering. The crews will fight for the ship's survivability on the move, at the anchorage, and will take on board helicopters. During the exercise, the sailors will perform exercises using practical weapons.
