Units of the Libyan National Army (LNA) demonstrated their most modern tanks at a recent exercise. They are upgraded T-62MV, equipped with dynamic protection or, as it is also called in the West, "reactive armor", which removes the effectiveness of cumulative ammunition.
But, perhaps most importantly, these combat vehicles have laser rangefinders (a" box " above the barrel of a 115-mm gun) included in the fire control system with a ballistic computer, which significantly increases the accuracy of shooting, including in motion.
Also, such tanks are equipped with a 9K116-1 Sheksna guided weapon system with a laser - guided missile capable of hitting 4,000 meters and piercing up to 600 mm of armor.

At various weapons exhibitions, they also talked about the improved Arkan TUR with a tandem head unit with an increased range of up to 5500 meters and armor penetration of up to 750 mm. Interestingly, this weapon can be used at temperatures up to +60 °C.
It is known that Turkey, which has currently deployed its military contingent in Libya, has transferred American-made M60 tanks to the formations of the so-called "Government of National Accord" at several bases. However, if they encounter such T-62 missiles, they have no chance to survive.
