Tests of the Russian experimental robotic platform "Marker", designed for full-scale testing of technologies and basic elements of ground-based robotics, were shown on video. The corresponding video on YouTube is published The Foundation for Advanced Research (FPI).
The video shows, RIA Novosti notes, " the capture of the target and shooting at the operator's control, and then-automatic shooting at growth static and moving targets, automatic movement on the polygon."
In August 2020, in the publication "Military-Industrial Courier", the deadly "Marker" was predicted to be destroyed in battle. "Before us — the reincarnation of the wedges of the twenties and early thirties. Technology, which suffered a crushing fiasco and turned out to be a dead-end branch of development. Only here-a non-emergency option, " the newspaper predicted.
In July of the same year, the project of the same name was criticized in the magazine Popular Mechanics.
The Marker robotic platform is a joint project of the FPI and the Android Technology Research and Production Association, which developed the Final Experimental Demonstration Object Research (FEDOR) product, which flew to the International Space Station in August 2019. The "marker" must be able to work with small arms and destroy ground and air targets, as well as get a grenade launcher. In the future, the device will be able to be equipped with drones.
