TSAMTO, May 26. More than 50 units of the second-generation anti-tank missile systems "Fagot" entered service with the motorized rifle unit of the Southern Military District (SE), stationed in the Stavropol Territory.
The portable anti-tank missile system with semi-automatic guidance is designed to search, observe and destroy stationary and moving targets with speeds up to 60 km/h. It is capable of destroying armored targets, as well as helicopters and enemy firing points at ranges of up to 4 km. Thanks to the modification of the launcher, the complex can also be placed on the MT-LB.
The launcher is equipped with a thermal imager with a guidance range of up to 2500 m, the used 9M113M "Konkurs" rocket with a caliber of 135 mm with a cumulative warhead has an armor penetration of up to 800 mm.
The new Fagot ATGM will be tested by the military personnel of the Southern Military District in the near future at the Nikolo-Alexandrovsky training ground in the Stavropol Territory, the press service of the Southern Military District reports.
