Moscow. May 22. INTERFAX-AVN-NATO countries have "accumulated" more than 8 thousand cruise missiles, including long-range ones, said Yan Novikov, General Director of JSC "Concern of East Kazakhstan Region "Almaz-Antey".

"The main weapon of air and space attack is cruise missiles. Only a new type has accumulated more than 8 thousand from the NATO countries and the United States, "Novikov said on Saturday at the forum "New Knowledge".

He noted that a number of countries are working to increase the number of cruise missiles on carriers.

Novikov also said that the American X-37 spacecraft can carry nuclear warheads. "It is officially stated that these devices are created for various scientific purposes, well, and intelligence. But we understand that, having such a free capacity and capabilities, according to our estimates, a small device can carry up to three nuclear warheads, a large one - up to six," the head of the concern said.

He recalled that the United States plans to increase the number of such devices by 2025. "This is a serious challenge," Novikov said.

JSC "Concern of East Kazakhstan Region" Almaz-Antey " is one of the largest integrated associations of the Russian defense industry. The holding includes more than 60 research institutes, design bureaus, industrial enterprises and service centers, which employ about 130 thousand people. The concern's products are supplied to more than 50 countries around the world.
