In addition to models of BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles and T-72 and T-80 tanks, the US military uses imitations of other Russian-made military equipment. For example, two years ago, a fake self-propelled rocket and gun complex "Tunguska"was spotted at the Fort Irwin training ground.
It, like other samples, was made on the chassis of an old tracked armored personnel carrier M113. Although, it seems, they installed mock-ups and eight "rocket containers", but it seems that the employees of the enterprise where this order was placed somehow did not particularly try to make the "ZRPK" look very much like a real car.
Earlier, in the 80s, such work was carried out more efficiently, for example, on the basis of the M109 self-propelled artillery installation, a mock-up of the ZSU-23-4 was made. To do this, they dismantled the 155-mm howitzer, and instead installed four "small-caliber guns". A "locator antenna" was placed on the roof of the tower.
Similar "Shilok" were also made on the basis of the light tank of the American airborne troops M551 Sheridan, but in such versions the quality was also lame.
According to some reports, at one time, the Americans were able to get from Israel several ZSU-23-4 captured from the Arab armies, but they were used only for testing promising aircraft at that time.
Judging by the publications on the Network, training battles sometimes end with real losses. So, in 2018, during maneuvers for technical reasons, one American BMP-2 burned down.
