TSAMTO, May 21. The project 20380 corvette "Zealous", which is being built by the Northern Shipyard (part of the USC) on the order of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation for the Black Sea Fleet, is preparing for the crew's arrival.
The ship continues to equip the premises for the settlement. Shipbuilders are busy sewing up rooms, finishing cabins, installing galley equipment. The crew is currently undergoing training.
Now the order ends with electrical installation and installation of special equipment. Shipboard systems are being installed: communications, navigation, fire extinguishing, and others.
"Zealous" is the fifth corvette under construction at the Northern Shipyard under the project 20380, developed by the Almaz Central Design Bureau. The previous four corvettes – "Steregushchy", "Smart", "Persistent" and "Brisk" - serve in the Baltic Fleet.
The multi-purpose corvettes of the project 20380 are designed to detect and destroy enemy submarines and surface ships, provide amphibious landings, as well as solve various tasks in the near sea zone. The ships are equipped with artillery, anti-missile, anti-submarine, sonar and radar systems. The project provides a hangar for the Ka-27 helicopter.
