The Pacific Fleet's Admiral Vinogradov BOD will be the next Project 1155 ship to be upgraded.
- There is a fundamental decision to carry out repairs with the modernization of the large anti-submarine ship "Admiral Vinogradov". The development of the perspective appearance of the ship is being completed. The task is to increase the air defense capabilities, and it is also planned to seriously increase and expand the composition of its missile weapons, "Admiral Sergey Avakyants, Commander of the Pacific Fleet, told Krasnaya Zvezda in an interview.
He noted that each of the upgraded BOD project 1155: both "Marshal Shaposhnikov" and "Admiral Vinogradov" - will be unique in its own way, since the ship's weapons are constantly being improved. The admiral also mentioned the planned modernization with re-equipment of one of the nuclear-powered submarine cruisers of the project 949A "Antey".
Recall that during the modernization of the BPC "Marshal Shaposhnikov" changed the main weapon. Instead of the Soviet Rastrub rocket torpedoes, the ship was equipped with the Uran anti - ship missile system and universal launchers for Kalibr and Onyx cruise missiles, and in the future, hypersonic Zircons. At the same time, the air defense system remained the same - the short-range SAM "Dagger". In April, the ship returned to the combat composition of the Pacific Fleet.
