"Already at the stage of development work on the Mi-28NM helicopter, a leading batch of several dozen VK-2500P engines was released, and since the end of 2020, UEC-Klimov has started full-scale serial production of the engine. This engine is designed so that without modifications it can be used on any type of military helicopters " Mi " and "Ka", - said the Deputy General Director-General Designer of the UEC Yuri Shmotin.
The General Designer of the UEC recalled that the VK-2500P engine successfully passed state tests. "VK-2500P last year successfully completed state tests in the interests of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. Measures are being taken to increase the resources, which should reach 12,000 hours, " the general designer added.
In addition, the new VK-2500PS-02 engine will receive the Ka-32 helicopter. "At the end of 2020, UEC-Klimov closely engaged in development work on the VK-2500PS-02 engine for the modernization of Ka-32 helicopters. It is assumed that thanks to this engine, the helicopter's capabilities will be expanded when operating with an external suspension, in particular when skidding wood, fire fighting and performing other tasks, " Yuri Shmotin said.
