It is reported that the German consortium ARTEC (now unites the companies Rheinmetall Defense and Krauss-Maffei Wegmann/KMW, now KNDS) presented a variant of the GTK Boxer (8x8) wheeled armored personnel carrier created for an unnamed "Middle Eastern customer", equipped with a new remote-controlled combat module Protector RT60 of the Norwegian Kongsberg group.

The Kongsberg RT60 combat module is a development of the already well-known Protector RT40 module (previously designated MCT-30-Protector Medium Caliber Turret), used, in particular, on the US Army M1296 Stryker ICV Dragoon (ICVD) armored vehicles, and also recently selected to equip the advanced US Marine Corps ACV-30 wheeled armored personnel carriers.
The now-presented version of the Boxer armored personnel carrier has a Protector RT60 combat module equipped with a 30-mm Northrop Grumman XM813 automatic gun, a 7.62 - mm machine gun paired with it, and a lifting two-shot ATGM launcher (on the presented sample-of the MBDA MMP type). On the roof of the RT60 module, a remote-controlled combat module with a 12.7 mm machine gun is installed, combined with a panoramic sight based on the Thales Catherine thermal imager. It is reported that the crew of this version of the Boxer armored personnel carrier includes three people with a capacity of eight infantry paratroopers.
An unnamed potential "Middle Eastern customer" of this variant of the Boxer BTR is most likely Qatar, which, after canceling its proposed purchase of the French VBCI-2 BTR (which was also supposed to be equipped with the Kongsberg MST-30 DUMV), is reportedly inclined to purchase the Boxer BTR.
