The crews of the vessels of the Hydrographic Service of the Black Sea Fleet (BSF) have completed pilotage work on the revision and replacement of floating warning signs in the sea areas of the fleet's bases in the Crimea and on the Caucasus coast.
The fleet hydrographers checked the compliance of the navigation signs with the standards set by the International Association of Lighthouse Services, inspected the surface and underwater parts of the signs, assessed their buoyancy and the functioning of the power supply system.
In the course of the work, the specialists also replaced individual parts of the light-optical devices and batteries, and, if necessary, the floating signs as a whole.
The pilot works performed by the specialists of the hydrographic service of the Black Sea Fleet are related to ensuring the safety of navigation of the fleet ships and civil vessels making calls to the port of Sevastopol and other fleet bases.
The work in the Black Sea was carried out by 15 hydrographic vessels and boats from the hydrographic Service of the Black Sea Fleet.
