A military plane of the Lida Yak-130 assault air Base crashed in the Belarusian city of Baranovichi, BelTA reported on Wednesday, May 19.
According to the agency, the plane crashed on the site in front of two-story houses, the territory was fenced off by specialists.
Initially, it was reported that the aircraft fell on a residential private house.
The Belarusian Defense Ministry reported that the cause of the incident was a technical malfunction of the aircraft, which the crew discovered during a training flight.
There were two pilots on board, both were killed.
The ministry said that the families of the victims will be provided with assistance. There were no other casualties or damage as a result of the incident.
The commission of the defense ministry headed by the Deputy Minister of Defense of Belarus for Armament went to the scene of the incident.
Earlier, on April 24, it was reported that the crash of a military helicopter in Zimbabwe led to the death of four people. In the process of falling, the helicopter landed on the house and turned the building into ruins.
