MOSCOW, May 13-RIA Novosti. Specialists of the Military Academy of Logistics (VA MTO, St. Petersburg) named after General of the Army Khrulev came up with a project of a unique transport-loading robot based on one of the most massive tractors in the Russian army MT-LB (also known as "Motoliga"), follows from a document published on the website of Rospatent.
The robot is a MT-LBu tractor (an extended version of the MT-LB), in the cargo compartment of which there is a mechanism for feeding ammunition. The complex is controlled remotely by an operator within a radius of up to 5 kilometers and is designed for urgent replenishment of ammunition for tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, self-propelled artillery and units of other branches of the armed forces on the front line of combat operations.
The uniqueness of this technical solution is justified by the fact that none of the loading robots that exist today, both in Russia and abroad, is capable of loading ammunition into tanks or IFVs. Today, such equipment can only be used to replenish the ammunition of self-propelled artillery.
"The task that the stated technical solution is aimed at solving is to create a universal robotic transport and loading complex not only for self-propelled artillery, but also for the first time - for tanks and IFVs, which has no analogues in the world," the document says.
So, in the description of the invention, the example of the South Korean K10 machine for the K9 "Thunder" self-propelled artillery system and the similar XM2002 complex for the American 155-mm howitzer XM2001 "Crusader" are given, the design of which is not universal and cannot provide ammunition to tanks, IFVs, in addition, they cannot be controlled at a distance.
According to the document, the new complex on the basis of "Motoligi" will be able to move to the forefront of combat operations, where it will be waiting for the crew of the tank/BMP/artillery installation to replenish the spent ammunition, so that the loading time of shells is reduced by 3-4 times, the physical load on the crews of armored vehicles is reduced.
MT-LB (multi-purpose tractor light, armored) was widely used in the Soviet era as an armored personnel carrier in motorized rifle units, as a sanitary evacuation vehicle, as a tractor of anti-tank guns T-12 and MT-12 "Rapira", as well as as a self-propelled mortar and anti-aircraft self-propelled installation. MT-LB actively participated in the battles in Afghanistan, as well as in military conflicts in the countries of the former USSR. MT-LB is a floating machine, its movement on the water is carried out by rewinding the tracks. The transport and cargo compartment is located in the rear of the vehicle and allows you to transport up to 2.5 tons of cargo or up to 11 people of the landing party. On the basis of the MT-LB, a whole family of combat vehicles has been developed.
