Russia plans to start mass production of MS-21, Baikal and IL-114-300 aircraft, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said, speaking at the State Duma with a report on the work of the government for the year.
"We plan to start mass production of competitive types of transport – medium-range MS-21, light-engine Baikal aircraft and regional IL – 114-300," RIA Novosti reports Mishustin's words.
"We will build new icebreakers and vessels of the river-sea class," he continued.
According to Mishustin, the government will strengthen support for "pulling" industries. "All the work done on import substitution has created a powerful foundation for the future. It is important to change the structure of the Russian industry. And, of course, we will strengthen support for the so-called "pulling" industries, where one job can create 7-8 additional jobs in related sectors. This includes aircraft and shipbuilding, transport engineering, " Mishustin said.
Recall that in February, the head of Rostec, Sergey Chemezov, said that the mass production of Russian passenger aircraft MS-21 can begin in 2022.
