The exercise on the detection of explosive objects with the counselors of the mine-search service dogs was held in the combined-arms army of the Eastern Military District (VVO) in Primorye.
For the maintenance of dogs in the engineering and sapper regiment of the association, spacious aviaries and dog training camps are equipped. Also, classes are held in other locations, changing the situation allows you to complicate the task of finding objects that simulate explosive substances, in the adjacent territory of a military unit, in crowded places and on vehicles.
In addition, the events held as part of the control classes serve as preparation for the upcoming third (district) stage of the competition of the international Games of the ARMI-2021 "Find and Neutralize". The conducted exercises confirmed the high level of professionalism among the calculations of the mine search service.
The main task to which the dogs of the mine search service are involved is to check the territory and objects for the presence of explosive objects. Despite the high-tech means of engineering weapons, the natural skills of animals are still indispensable in various situations. When clearing objects containing metal structures and fragments, no mine detector can replace the sensitive sense of smell of a service dog.
All counselors are military personnel under contract, so the mine-search calculations perform tasks for the entire period of the working age of the dog, the press service of the VVO noted.
