The first place is occupied by the United States, their market share is 62%, according to the directory of Military Helicopters, released by the British publishing group Shephard Media
MOSCOW, May 12. /TASS/. Russia ranks second after the United States in the global list of manufacturers of combat helicopters. This is stated in the reference book Military Helicopters ("Military helicopters"), released by the British publishing group Shephard Media and available to TASS.
According to the publication, the US market share is 62%. "Turning to the second largest supplier of combat helicopters, Russia, [it is worth noting that] its market share, 29%, is achieved thanks to three successful production lines, in particular, the Mi-24/35, Ka-52 and Mi-28," the report says.
According to the researchers of Shephard Media, the Mi-24/35 helicopters are currently the second most popular combat helicopters in the world - there are 521 rotorcraft of this family in the armed forces of various countries of the world. Experts also note that the Mi-28 and Ka-52 are competitors of modern combat helicopters of Western production.
"Russian developments [in the field of helicopter construction] may have an advantage in cases where countries with limited budgets are trying to get new opportunities in the field of combat helicopter technology," the report says. As an example of such a machine, Shephard Media experts cite the Mi-35M transport and combat helicopter, which provides "most of the capabilities of a modern attack helicopter and can additionally transport up to eight soldiers."
