TSAMTO, May 11. A series of mine defense ships under construction for the Navy of the project 12700 will have a high level of automation, said the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov, following a working meeting at the Admiralty, where issues of surface shipbuilding were considered.
"The Project 12700 ships already have one of the highest levels of automation of control processes and the use of onboard systems. This level will increase as the mine defense ships of this project continue to be built. In this matter, the Navy is actively cooperating with the United Shipbuilding Corporation and enterprises that are part of the cooperation, which is involved in the construction of PMO ships of the 12700 project," N. Evmenov said.
Earlier, on April 28, at the Sredne-Nevsky Shipyard, the launch ceremony of the sixth mine defense ship (PMO) "Pyotr Ilyichev" of the project 12700 was held.
The ceremony was attended by the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC "United Shipbuilding Corporation" Georgy Poltavchenko, Vice-President of JSC "United Shipbuilding Corporation" Vladimir Korolev, General Director of JSC "SNSZ" Vladimir Seredokho, General Director of the Central Marine Design Bureau "Almaz" Alexander Shlyakhtenko, Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Mikhail Romanov, as well as employees and veterans of JSC "SNSZ". The right to break a traditional bottle of champagne on the hull of the ship was granted to the honored employee of the plant – the head of the department of computer-aided design systems Alexandra Kiryushkina.
In his speech to the shipbuilders, N. Evmenov noted that " the Sredne-Nevsky Shipyard has fully mastered the serial construction of mine defense ships of the 12700 project, which are distinguished by excellent characteristics in their class and have repeatedly proved this by performing a wide range of tasks as part of the Navy."
"The Main Command of the Russian Navy is considering ordering another series of mine defense ships of the project 12700. There are never many ships... I think we will additionally order a series of these kings. They meet the challenges and threats at sea, "said N. Evmenov at the launch ceremony of the PMO ship "Pyotr Ilyichev" at the Sredne-Nevsky Shipyard.
"The ships of this project have a great modernization potential. When creating the project 12700, the most advanced technologies were used, and these ships have no analogues in the world.
