The arsenal of the Russian Armed Forces received 19 new samples of electronic warfare (EW) equipment, including aviation. On Sunday, May 9, said the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Yuri Borisov.
"The joint efforts of the Russian Defense Ministry, the scientific and military-industrial complexes since 2015 have created modern ground — based, air-based and sea-based jamming systems in all levels of the military command, many of which have no analogues in the world, "Interfax quotes him as saying.
According to Borisov, 19 new models of electronic warfare equipment were developed, including those on air carriers. When creating them, the prospects for the development of systems for managing troops and weapons of foreign armies were taken into account, the Deputy Prime Minister said.
He added that the delivery of this equipment to the troops allowed us to significantly expand the range of suppressed electronic means of a likely enemy and increase the range of its use by 3.5 times. Among the most technologically advanced systems, Borisov singled out the "Palantin" and "Tirada" complexes.
"The capabilities of these complexes are without exaggeration unique. They are able to affect a wide range of radio-electronic means, provide disruption of the operation of the control systems of the enemy's troops and weapons, as well as cover important state and military facilities from being hit by modern means," the Deputy Prime Minister added.
In April, military experts told Izvestia that this year the electronic warfare troops will conduct several exercises. They will work out the skills of creating special zones that are completely inaccessible to cruise missiles, precision weapons and enemy drones. And in 2022, such maneuvers will be repeated on a national scale.
