MOSCOW, May 6. /TASS/. MiG-35 fighters have received new combat capabilities, in particular, they will be able to use any existing aviation weapons. This was announced in an interview with TASS in honor of the 30th anniversary of the Strizhi air group, Director of the MiG-29M, MiG-35 and light multi-functional front-line aircraft of the Russian Aircraft Corporation (RSC) MiG (as part of the United Aircraft Corporation) Mushegh Baloyan.
"The MiG-35 can use the entire range of existing aircraft weapons, including advanced models," he said.
Baloyan stressed that thanks to the new combat capabilities, this aircraft has become an effective aviation complex for gaining air supremacy.
"In terms of weapons and equipment, the MiG-35 surpasses its predecessor in everything. New radar and optical-location stations, a new helmet-mounted target designation system, modern air - to - air and air-to-surface missiles (the same as on the Su-57, with the exception of large - sized ones), a large range of aircraft bombs, both free-fall and corrected," explained the representative of the RSC MiG.
The latest generation 4++ MiG-35 multirole fighter is a further development of the MiG-29K/KUB and MiG-29M/M2 aircraft. The beginning of flight tests and the international presentation of the car took place in January 2017, in December of the same year, its factory tests were completed. The fighter is designed to operate in high-intensity armed conflict zones in conditions of a saturated and layered enemy air defense system.
