The United Engine Corporation of Rostec is creating a mobile stand for the AI-222-25 aircraft engine, which will allow testing power plants after repairs in the field, the press service of the Rostec State Corporation reported.
The mobile test facility is distinguished by its simple design. For its operation, you need access to a 220/380V power supply and two tons of fuel. The entire stand is placed in two containers, which allows you to deliver it anywhere in the world. As part of Rostec, its development is carried out by specialists of the company JSC "UEC" - the production complex "Salyut".
"For the customer, a convenient format for servicing power plants is important – as fast as possible, without complex logistics operations and delivery of units to factories engaged in repair and production. The test setup solves this problem. The design of the stand is easy to use, the weight and size characteristics allow you to quickly deliver it to any place. The use of such equipment significantly reduces the recovery time of the aircraft engine, " the Rostec aviation cluster said.
The development is linked to the project to create a service center for the modular repair of AI-222-25 engines. The design of the power plant allows you to carry out the necessary repairs to replace the modules directly at the site of operation. To check the readiness of the repaired engine for installation on the aircraft, appropriate tests are required. The creation of a mobile test facility is one of the most important conditions for the full operation of the service center.
"Currently, a mobile test facility demonstrator has been created to test our solutions in practice. This year, we plan to carry out the commissioning of the prototype, " added Alexey Gromov, Head of the Salyut PC of UEC JSC.
