The All-Russian conference dedicated to the digitalization of shipbuilding was held at Sevmash

TSAMTO, April 27. Sevmash (part of USC) hosted the VI All-Russian Industry Scientific and Technical Conference " Digital Technologies of Design and Production in shipbuilding. Industry 4.0". The event was attended by more than 150 engineers from all over Russia.

The conference addressed the issues of digitalization of shipyards, the creation of digital counterparts of ships, computer-aided design systems, modeling of production processes, virtual design studies, and others. The event is organized by Sevmash under the auspices of the Arkhangelsk Regional Union of Machine Builders of Russia.

"The conference brought together representatives of almost all shipbuilding, ship repair enterprises, design and technological bureaus of the country," said Alexander Spiridonov, Chief Technical Officer for Special Projects and Armament of JSC PO Sevmash. - Sevmash has been holding a conference on this topic since 2015. During this time, it has become an industry platform for the exchange of experience, consideration and joint solution of problems. The introduction of digital technologies in the creation, operation and repair of marine equipment allows you to reduce the cost, reduce the time and improve the quality of work."

The first section of the conference featured reports from engineering and IT services of various enterprises and design bureaus. In the second - to a greater extent, the reports of developers of domestic CAD systems (computer-aided design solutions), which are used in shipbuilding enterprises in Russia. The audience got acquainted with the innovations and achievements of the developers. Reports were provided by the companies ASKON (the developer of the Compass system), Rosatom, JSC SPO Arktika, Sevmash and many others.

"Each of the designers uses their own software to produce design documentation for the construction of nuclear submarines. We managed to develop a software package for "reading" all formats and applying this documentation in production conditions, "Alexey Bazhanov, design engineer of the Design Bureau of JSC PO Sevmash, explained the new development.

The industry scientific and technical conference was a continuation of the previously discussed topics, when considering which new tasks were outlined.
