TSAMTO, April 26. The Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov, made a planned working trip to Severodvinsk on April 24.
According to the Information Support Group of the Navy, during the working trip, Admiral Nikolay Evmenov heard from the command of the White Sea Naval Base on the issues of testing nuclear submarines being built for the Navy at the Sevmash enterprise in Severodvinsk.
Admiral Nikolay Evmenov also checked the progress of the construction of nuclear submarines at the Sevmash enterprise and held a working meeting on the issues of underwater shipbuilding at the plant. The meeting under the leadership of the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy was attended by the General Director of the enterprise "Sevmash" Mikhail Budnichenko, Vice-President of the United Shipbuilding Corporation Vladimir Korolev, Commander of the Northern Fleet Admiral Alexander Moiseev, representatives of the relevant management bodies of the Main Command of the Navy, the command of the White Sea Naval Base.
On the "Sevmash", the commander-in-chief of the Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov, inspected the production facilities of the enterprise and checked the progress of repair and modernization of the heavy nuclear missile cruiser "Admiral Nakhimov".
Accompanied by the General Director of "Sevmash" Mikhail Budnichenko, representatives of the relevant departments of the Main Command of the Navy, representatives of the plant, the commander-in-chief of the Navy inspected the progress of work on the TARKR "Admiral Nakhimov", and also discussed with shipbuilders the whole range of issues on the modernization of the cruiser, its equipment.
"The work on the repair and modernization of such a large-displacement and unique cruiser belongs to the category of increased complexity, but I am sure that the shipbuilders of Sevmash will cope with the task. To do this, they have both experience and professionalism. In the process of modernization of the Admiral Nakhimov TARKR, new technological and innovative solutions are being introduced. This applies to weapons and life support systems and radio-technical weapons systems. There is no doubt that the Navy will receive the most powerful ship in its armament and technical means. On all issues of repair and modernization of the cruiser, the Main Command of the Navy is constantly cooperating with the United Shipbuilding Corporation and, in particular, with Sevmash, "said the Commander – in-Chief of the Russian Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov.
