Operational and tactical exercises "Kalkan-2021"were held in the Mangystau region of Kazakhstan. As noted in the defense department of the state, they involved parts and divisions of the armed forces, national security agencies, Border Service units and the National Guard.
A large number of various military and special equipment was involved in this event, including Russian-made K-43269 "Shot" armored vehicles.
At one stage, such a protected vehicle, also known as the BPM-97 (armored border vehicle), delivered a group of soldiers who detained the "attacker".
A special feature of the sample demonstrated by the security forces of Kazakhstan was the anti-accumulation screens that completely covered the sides and stern. This simple and at the same time effective development protects against rocket-propelled grenades of hand and machine grenade launchers.
K-43269 is also actively used in the Russian Army. They have performed well in Syria.
Currently, various variants have been created, including reconnaissance ones, as well as those equipped with combat modules with a 30-mm cannon, an AG-17 automatic grenade launcher and a 7.62-mm PKT machine gun.
