In a few months, a facial recognition system installed in the Moscow metro helped identify 600 people who are on the federal wanted list. This was announced by the Mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin, speaking at the discussion club of the Higher School of Economics and the BEAC.
The mayor added that they forgot to look for these 600 people. They quietly moved around Moscow, but were identified by artificial intelligence.
Another advantage of digitalization Sobyanin called the reduction of such crimes as car theft and burglary. There are fewer of them because there are more and more video cameras in the city.
