INTERFAX-The Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy Nikolai Evmenov on Friday sums up the results of the interspecific command and staff exercises (KShU) with the participation of the Northern Fleet, which were held since April 19, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reports.
"In the afternoon (...) Evmenov in Severomorsk will meet the frigate "Admiral Kasatonov" after the ship has completed the tasks of a long-distance cruise, which was the first in the history of this newest ship. The commander-in-chief of the Navy will board the frigate, hear reports from officials of the Northern Fleet and the commander of the frigate on the results of the campaign, and also speak to the crew, " the report says.
According to the department, today in Severomorsk, under the leadership of the Commander-in-chief of the Navy, the results of the interspecific CSU SF are being summed up.
At various stages of these exercises, nuclear and diesel submarines, ships of the Kola Flotilla of heterogeneous forces and formations of missile ships, support vessels, units of the army corps, aircraft, military and special equipment of the Army of the Air Force and Air Defense of the SF were involved, the press release says.
Admiral Kasatonov is the second frigate of Project 22350. The lead ship of the project "Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Gorshkov" was transferred to the Navy in July 2018.
The ships of this project are created using stealth technology, designed to conduct combat operations in the far ocean zone against surface ships and submarines of the enemy, to repel attacks by means of air attack both independently and as part of a combination of ships.
