INTERFAX-The crews of the missile ship (ROK) "Tatarstan" and the missile boat (RKA) "Stupinets" of the Caspian Flotilla (CFl) are working out combat training tasks for the intended purpose as part of the ship's tactical group, the head of the press service of the Southern Military District, Colonel Vadim Astafyev, told reporters on Wednesday.
"At the first stage of the test tactical exercise, the crews successfully conducted artillery and anti-aircraft firing in the sea ranges of the Caspian Sea. The ship's calculations destroyed the landing boats and aircraft of the imaginary enemy from the standard anti-aircraft artillery systems and installations of the Palash (Palm) ZRAK, 76-mm AK-176M AU, 100-mm A-190 Universal, 30-mm Duet ZAK (AK 630-M2), " he said.
According to him, the naval tactical group of the flotilla also performed the tasks of maneuvering ships and approaching a sea target at a set distance, destroying a sea target, mine, anti-aircraft and anti-submarine sabotage defense when parked on an unprotected roadstead.
"At the final stage of the exercise, the Caspian sailors will work out the tactics of conducting a training sea battle, elements of joint navigation, combat maneuvering and exit from the battle as part of a tactical group. In addition, the crews of the CFl will search for and destroy the ships of the simulated enemy with a missile strike, using the data of their own surveillance and detection equipment, " the head of the press service said.
