MOSCOW, 18 Apr-RIA Novosti. Israeli designers have begun to copy Russian unmanned technologies, said the chief designer of the company ZALA AERO (part of the Kalashnikov group of companies") Alexander Zakharov.
The story of the TV channel showed examples of the use of the Lancet kamikaze drones developed by ZALA AERO in Syria, in particular, the destruction of a pickup truck of militants and a machine-gun point with the help of drones.
The concept of using UAVs as an "air minefield" was also shown: several Lancet drones take up positions for patrolling in the air, and when an enemy drone appears, barrage ammunition is rammed simultaneously with the detonation of a three-kilogram warhead. The video showed computer graphics with the destruction of a drone similar to the Turkish "Bayraktar".
As a source in the military-industrial complex told RIA Novosti earlier, Russian special forces have used several dozen Lancet-3 drones to strike international terrorists in Syria since last year. According to him, an experimental batch of Kalashnikov-designed Lancet barrage ammunition was delivered to the Russian group of troops in Syria for testing in combat conditions. In addition, the source specified, other kamikaze drones "Kub", also produced by ZALA AERO, have been used in Syria since 2019.
ZALA AERO also created the first tiltrotor drone that combines the qualities of an airplane and a quadrocopter, capable of performing vertical takeoff and landing. In addition, the company has developed the first UAV with a hybrid power plant consisting of an internal combustion engine and an electric motor. On the one hand, this allows the UAV to be in flight for up to 16 hours - the internal combustion engine recharges the batteries, on the other hand, the UAV can move almost silently due to the operation of the electric motor.
