As reported by the RIA Novosti news agency, JSC "Kronshtadt" has started construction of the first specialized plant in Russia for the serial production of attack unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), the launch of the enterprise is scheduled for November. The company "Kronstadt" is the developer and manufacturer of the impact UAV "Pacer" (also known as"Orion"). Such devices can carry up to 200 kilograms of combat load and were used in Syria to attack international terrorists. There are also intelligence and civilian versions of the device.
"The Kronshtadt company has started construction of the first Russian factory for serial production of unmanned aerial vehicles in Dubna. The plant will be built in record time: the start of production is scheduled for November 2021, " the press service said.
They specified that " investments in the project will amount to more than four billion rubles." The company also added that the company will provide permanent work for more than 1.5 thousand people and will direct more than 900 million rubles of annual tax deductions to the budget. The production will be environmentally friendly and silent, its total area will be 45 thousand square meters.
As noted by the general director of "Kronshtadt" Sergey Bogatikov, whose words are quoted in the press service, the company faces very tight deadlines, but "everything possible and impossible will be done to meet them." "We considered different sites and decided on Dubna. Dubna is a famous science city, where industry and production are well developed, and enterprises that are important for the country are located," the head of the company added.
As a high-ranking source in the military-industrial complex told RIA Novosti, " the new production will cover the needs for the Pacer drones from both the Ministry of Defense and other customers."
The company "Kronstadt" is also developing an unmanned complex of group use "Lightning" and heavy attack UAV "Thunder".
The medium-altitude long-duration attack drone "Pacer", also known as" Orion", was developed by the company" Kronshtadt " on the order of the Ministry of Defense. The device can be in flight for up to a day. Its maximum take-off weight is 1,100 kilograms, and its combat load is up to 200 kilograms. "Orion" is capable of using small-sized guided missiles and adjustable aerial bombs on ground targets.
