MOSCOW, 15 Apr-RIA Novosti. More than 10 ships of the Caspian Flotilla, including small missile ships, entered the Caspian Sea as part of a control check of combat readiness for the winter training period, the press service of the Southern Military District (SE) told reporters on Thursday.
"As part of the planned control check for the winter training period, the crews of the ships of the Caspian Flotilla left the base point of Makhachkala to the designated area of the Caspian Sea for a test tactical exercise. In total, the crews of 10 warships, including the Stupinets missile boat, the small missile ships Grad Sviyazhsk, Uglich, Veliky Ustyug, base minesweepers, boats, as well as support vessels, take part in the ship - based tactical training exercise, "the district said.
As specified in the Southern Military District, the ship group will work out at sea the search for mines using contact trawls and their destruction by firing from the standard weapons of ships.
In addition, the two ship groups of the flotilla will conduct exercises on sailing in a single marching order, work out practical actions to repel an enemy air attack with shooting at air targets and striking a detachment of warships of a simulated enemy.
