A detachment of ships of the Black Sea Fleet (Black Sea Fleet) of the Russian Federation went to sea to conduct artillery firing. This was reported on April 14 in the department of information support of the fleet.
The training activities will also involve helicopters and aircraft of the naval aviation and air defense of the Black Sea Fleet. The exercises are conducted as part of a control check for the winter training period.
"A detachment of ships consisting of the frigate Admiral Makarov, the small missile ships Grayvoron and Vyshny Volochek, the Samum hovercraft, the minesweeper Ivan Golubets, as well as large landing ships left their bases and conducted training to overcome a conditional minefield in providing the fleet's minesweeping forces," the Black Sea Fleet reported.
On the eve of the Russian Defense Ministry reported that in accordance with the training plan of the Armed Forces of Russia in the military administration, formations and military units during April, 4048 exercises of various scales, including 812 bilateral, will be held at 101 training grounds and 520 objects of training and material base.
On the same day, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov commented on the information that American warships are planning to enter the Black Sea. The Deputy Minister advised the ships to stay away from the coast of Russia, and called the call a provocation.
Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, commenting on the sending of ships by Washington to the Black Sea, said that the incident is accompanied by aggressive rhetoric
On Friday, April 9, the United States warned Turkey that next week two American warships will pass through the Bosphorus Strait into the Black Sea. Ankara, in turn, later notified Moscow of Washington's plans. The US added that the vessels will remain in the Black Sea until May 4.
