SEVEROMORSK, April 13. /TASS/. Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu on Tuesday inspected the construction of infrastructure facilities of the mooring front for the deployment of the submarine forces of the Northern Fleet in the city of Gadzhievo, Murmansk region.
The Minister was informed that the construction is planned to be completed in September 2021. In total, the project provides for the construction and reconstruction of 49 different objects of coastal infrastructure, including three berths for the deployment of Project 955 and 955A submarines ("Borey" and "Borey-A").
The completion of the work will allow the ships at the berths to be fully supplied with communications, water, high-pressure air and high-purity water.
The head of the Russian military department was also informed about the comprehensive modernization of the power supply system of the Russian Defense Ministry facilities in the territory of the Gadzhievo garrison.
Now the basis of the submarine forces is made up of strategic missile carriers armed with ballistic missiles "Sineva" and "Bulava", as well as multi-purpose submarines carrying missile and torpedo weapons systems on board.
