Artillery boats and landing craft of the Caspian flotilla began the transition from Makhachkala to the Black Sea. More than ten boats of the project 1204 "Bumblebee" and landing craft of the class "Dugong" and "Serna"take part in the campaign.
"Before leaving the base point, the crews of the boats worked out a full cycle of basic training and completed course tasks at sea. In preparation for the transition, the commanders, watch officers and crews providing navigation safety conducted training on the passage of narrow sections and strait zones," the press service of the Southern Military District said.
Marine Corps units are also involved in the campaign. After the end of the transition, the detachment of the Caspian Flotilla will take part in the exercises of the Black Sea Fleet to repel the sea and air landings of the imaginary enemy.
By the way, in 2018, the boats "Bumblebee" and "Grif-M" took part in exercises to protect the Crimean Bridge.
It should be noted that the artillery boats of the Bumblebee project are designed to carry out patrol duty on rivers and lakes, as well as in the coastal zone. They can not only effectively deal with small enemy vessels, but also assist the ground forces with artillery and machine gun fire. The boats are armed with two 76-mm artillery pieces, a 140-mm rocket launcher and a machine gun. The boat's crew is 14 people. The cruising range is 320 nautical miles.
