The ship will be completed on the water, the source added. He did not rule out that in the future, the Mercury will return to the boathouse.
The corvette " Mercury "was laid down in 2016 under the name"Daring". This is the lead ship of the project 20386 with a modular armament, an open architecture control system and the ability to use a drone.
In 2019, it was decided to rename the ship under construction to "Mercury" - in honor of the brig of the Black Sea Fleet, which in 1829 single-handedly defeated two Turkish battleships. The decree of Nicholas I prescribed always to have a ship with this name in the Black Sea Fleet.
