MOSCOW, 3 Apr-RIA Novosti. A wireless system for monitoring the state of silo launchers with intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) is being developed in Russia, according to the materials of the Royal Readings on Cosmonautics, available to RIA Novosti.
It is noted that " the development of the NSC is carried out in both wired and wireless versions."
The Reutov NPO Mashinostroeniya is the developer of the UR-100N UTTH ICBM ("Stiletto" according to the NATO classification), which is on combat duty in the divisions of the Strategic Missile Forces, including those with hypersonic gliding cruise blocks (the Avangard complex).
The materials state that at present, the control and maintenance of the temperature and humidity regime in the launchers is carried out using standard systems, but this information is not enough for objective warranty and author's supervision by manufacturers. In addition, this control by manufacturers is not possible, since it is performed only by military operators of missile systems.
Hence, as noted in the materials, the need to create an NSC, which should be created from Russian-made components, have an extended service life of at least 15 years and information security tools, as well as work offline for a long time.
