Moscow. April 1. INTERFAX-Enterprises in the space industry are suffering losses due to the restriction of access to critical technologies, which is caused by sanctions, said Maxim Ovchinnikov, First Deputy General Director of Roscosmos for Finance.
"Of course, the sanctions affect, but not directly, but indirectly, through the discipline of the execution of state contracts. Because when we are restricted to access to critical technologies and components, as well as design bureaus, we, of course, can not meet our obligations to state customers on time, and our enterprises bear additional costs due to the fact that the contract, for example, is executed not for three years, but for five years," Ovchinnikov said in an interview with the TV channel "Russia 24" (VGTRK).
According to him, this "has a negative impact on the economy of the enterprise and on the economy of the corporation as a whole."
In February, the Rocket and Space Corporation Energia reported that US and European sanctions could lead to "restrictions on international cooperation in the implementation of a number of projects."
Earlier, a number of Russian space enterprises, including the Samara RCC Progress and the Central Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering (TsNIIMash), were included in the US sanctions lists.
Getting on the list means that now American companies will need to obtain special licenses to export, re-export or transfer products to those involved in the "black list".
The head of Roscosmos, Dmitry Rogozin, called the sanctions against the space enterprises - RCC Progress and TsNIIMash - illegal. "These sanctions are harmful, because they will create additional obstacles and annoyances in such an important cooperation between Russians and Americans in space, in particular, on the ISS," Rogozin said on Facebook.
Russia and the United States cooperate on the ISS. NASA astronauts are sent to the ISS on Russian Soyuz spacecraft.
