The crew of a diesel-electric submarine dived to a depth of 190 meters in the sea ranges of the Baltic Fleet.
During the deep-sea dive, the operation of all systems and mechanisms was checked. Also, the algorithm of actions was worked out when controlling at great depths and with various methods of surfacing.
The dive was provided by the ships and the SS-750 rescue vessel, Captain Roman Martov, head of the information support department of the press service of the Western Military District for the Baltic Fleet, told the Military-Industrial Courier.
In addition, the submariners conducted exercises in the fight for survivability, working out combat calculations with the conditional use of torpedo, mine and missile weapons.
"Volkhov "is a diesel-electric submarine of the Varshavyanka project of the 636.3 series, which is significantly different from the previous ones. These "Varshavyanka" are designed to fight ships and submarines, setting minefields, conducting reconnaissance. One of the main advantages of these submarines is the low noise level.
