TSAMTO, March 31. Military personnel of the automobile repair unit of the Russian military base in Abkhazia, as part of a tactical and special exercise at the Tsabal training ground, evacuated conditionally damaged equipment, using the latest REM-KL repair and evacuation vehicles in a combined-arms battle.
According to the plan of the exercise, the conditional enemy during the offensive artillery fire disabled several combat vehicles of the compound, after which the servicemen had to evacuate the equipment under heavy enemy fire.
The servicemen of the repair unit with the use of REM-KL on the basis of the Ural all-terrain vehicle evacuated the damaged vehicles to the field assembly point to restore their technical condition and return to service.
The servicemen also fulfilled the standards for the deployment of new mobile maintenance workshops MTO-AM1, containing more than 20 types of special equipment for the repair of weapons and military equipment in the field.
REM-KL is equipped with a rotary lifting device with a lifting capacity of up to three tons, a winch and electric welding, with the help of which the transport of out-of-order military equipment and repair work to restore its combat capability are carried out in a short time. In the offline mode, a wide range of maintenance work is carried out in the field.
In total, about 20 units of modern special equipment were involved in the exercise at the Tsabal mountain range, the press service of the Southern Military District reports.
