The topic of mass production of the new transport vehicle became relevant after the resumption of flight tests of the prototype.
"All the systems of the aircraft have been finalized, work has been carried out to reduce its weight, which made it possible to transfer the IL-112 to the stage of preliminary tests conducted jointly with the Ministry of Defense. In parallel, preparations are underway for the mass production of up to 12 aircraft per year, which will meet the needs of the military and ensure a stable load of the enterprise, "said Sergey Yarkov, Managing Director of PJSC Il.
This transport vehicle will have to replace the outdated An-26s in the Russian Aerospace Forces.
