The Borisoglebsk and Zhitel electronic warfare systems proved their effectiveness against drone attacks during the exercises. They completely disabled the combat drones, and also suppressed the command posts of the imaginary enemy.
Countering the attacks of attack drones has recently become the main task of the world's leading armies. In Russia, both air defense and electronic warfare systems are used to repel drone attacks. During the exercises in the Stavropol Territory, EW means successfully blinded drones that tried to attack the positions of motorized rifle units.
As the head of the press service of the Southern Military District, Colonel Vadim Astafyev, said, during training, specialists of electronic warfare within a radius of 40 km revealed control signals of the attack unmanned aircraft of the conditional enemy.
The command decided to use modern jamming stations "Borisoglebsk-2" and "Resident". The complexes completely blocked the satellite navigation of drones and disabled unmanned aerial vehicles.
In addition, the specialists of electronic warfare silenced the control points and communication nodes of the imaginary enemy.
The exercise of the EW units was held at the Nikolo-Alexandrovsky training ground, and over 500 servicemen took part in it. More than 30 pieces of military equipment were involved.
