Tu-142 aircraft flew over the Northern and Barents Seas, as well as over the North-Eastern Atlantic. As reported in the press service of the Northern Fleet, the crews of two long-range anti-submarine aircraft Tu-142 performed a scheduled flight. "After working out the flight task, the pilots landed at the Kipelovo airfield in the Vologda region," the press service noted.
They said that the flight took place over the neutral waters of the Barents, Norwegian and North Seas. On the Barents Sea, the Tu-142 was accompanied by Su-33 fighters. The flight duration was about 11 hours.
During the flight of anti-submarine aircraft over the Norwegian Sea, they were accompanied by a pair of F-16 fighters of the Norwegian Air Force. In the airspace over the North Sea, the Russian planes were accompanied by two Typhoon fighters of the British Air Force.
As previously reported by Rossiyskaya Gazeta, on Monday, March 29, two Tu-160 strategic missile carriers of the Russian Aerospace Forces carried out a planned raid over the neutral waters of the Barents and Norwegian Seas.
