The Russian Defense Ministry showed on Monday, March 29, a video of the flight of two Tu-160 strategic missile carriers accompanied by MiG-31 fighters.
The long-range missile carriers flew over the neutral waters of the Barents and Norwegian Seas. The flight lasted more than 8 hours. In the sky, the missile carriers were accompanied by MiG-31 fighters of the Russian Navy's naval aviation.
The ministry noted that long-range aviation regularly flies over the neutral waters of the Baltic and Black Seas, the Pacific Ocean, as well as the North Atlantic and the Arctic.
The Defense Ministry stressed that all flights of the Russian Aerospace Forces are carried out in strict accordance with international rules for the use of airspace, reports RT.
On March 10, the first upgraded Tu-160M strategic bomber, equipped with new NK-32-02 engines, was handed over for preliminary testing. The plane flew from the Kazan Aircraft Factory named after Gorbunov. It was piloted by the crew under the leadership of the Honored Test Pilot of Russia Henri Naskidyants. The flight was conducted in normal mode.
