Russia has conducted a comprehensive expedition in the Arctic. Yesterday, March 27, the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on its official YouTube channel published a video of the exercise "Umka-21".
"For the first time, according to a single plan and plan, a complex of combat training, research and practical activities of various directions is being carried out in the circumpolar regions," said the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov.

The Umka-2021 complex Arctic expedition is being conducted by the Russian Navy with the participation of the Russian Geographical Society since March 20. The expedition, which takes place in the area of the Franz Josef Land archipelago, Alexandra Land Island and the surrounding water area, involves more than 600 military and civilian personnel and about 200 samples of weapons, military and special equipment. On the video you can see fragments of various activities within the expedition:
- the ascent of three nuclear submarines from under the ice in a limited area with a radius of 300 m;
- flight to the polar region with refueling in the air of a pair of MiG-31 fighters with the passage of the geographical point of the North Pole;
- tactical training with a unit of the Arctic motorized rifle brigade in difficult weather conditions.
