The first serial medium sea tanker for the Black Sea Fleet was laid down at the Nevsky Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant
Moscow. March 26. INTERFAX-The first production medium sea tanker of the project 21130 for the Black Sea Fleet "Vasily Nikitin" was laid down on Friday in Shlisselburg, the press service of the United Shipbuilding Corporation reported.
"On March 26, in the city of Shlisselburg, Leningrad Region, a solemn ceremony of laying the keel of the first serial medium sea tanker of the project 23130" Vasily Nikitin "was held at the Nevsky Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant," the press service reported.
"Until 2027, five tankers of this project will be built, which will guarantee to meet the needs of the Navy in the far sea zone. In total, until 2027, it is planned to build more than 100 auxiliary vessels of various purposes, " said the head of the auxiliary fleet service of the Department of Transport Support of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Captain 1st rank Sergey Epifanov, whose words are quoted in the press service.
The ship is named in honor of Colonel-General Vasily Nikitin, head of the Central Department of Rocket Fuel and Fuel of the USSR Ministry of Defense, the press service noted. According to her, the transfer to the fleet is planned for 2023.
The tanker is capable of transferring fuel simultaneously to three vessels going from it at a distance of 50 to 100 meters on board or in the wake.
